Hi! I'm Amy,
a proud northerner and poet who loves nothing more than turning the stories of every day people into little patchworks of art.
People are the colourful threads that make up the fabrics, and life is a patchwork quilt stitched together by journeys.
Let's tell our stories.
Let's celebrate life.
What could be more worthy of celebration than love? To me, getting close friends and family together to celebrate the unique love of a couple is what a wedding should be all about. And the best thing about being an independent wedding celebrant is there are endless ways we can do just that. Because I am not bound to any faith, traditional custom, venue or time, I deliver ceremonies just the way my couples dream it- any place, any time. After getting to know you, I will carefully craft your stories into one unique ceremony, and we can include: your love story, meaningful rituals, original vows, personal readings, music, dancing - you name it. Together we can create a ceremony that is important to you. That tells your story. That celebrates you!
Having a child is one of the biggest, if not, THE biggest, thing you will ever do in your life. On top of that, you have the responsibility of naming that child for-EVER! No pressure, but that's a pretty big deal, right?! One that I think deserves to be celebrated! Some families like to celebrate with a religious ceremony such as a christening but if that's not your thing, it can be difficult to know what the alternatives are. As an independent celebrant, I'm here to help you. Together we can design a celebration that incorporates all the things that are important to you and the new addition to your life. This could be: naming rituals, readings, symbolic gestures, 'god/guide parent' promises, songs, dancing - you name it! Together we can create a ceremony that is important to you and your family. That tells your stories. That celebrates your lives!
I can imagine planning a funeral is the last thing you want to be doing right now, if ever, and it is with my deepest understanding and sympathy that you have been brought here. But, from my experience as a celebrant, and personally, I know it is possible for funerals to be a positive experience. Sharing stories of your loved one through the days after your loss can be a very important part of the grieving process. A way to celebrate a life well lived and one that ensures your loved one is remembered in the right way. It is so important to me that the life of someone close to you is captured, celebrated and remembered in the most beautiful way possible, filled with compassion and love. My promise is to make sure you receive the best possible care when planning the ceremony and to provide you with a service that your loved one deserves. That tells their story. That celebrates their life!
